bon voyage

whaWHAT? Two posts in a month?
This one is a little picture heavy, but I likes it that way.

I was lucky enough to stop by WU yesterday. I went out to lunch with a close friend and we stumbled upon a beautiful garden at the Historic Deepwood Estate

KING IN THE CASTLE, KING IN THE CASTLE

I never even knew this place existed! So close to campus yet private and peaceful.

can you spot the garden fairies?

Definitely my type of garden (well obviously. I don't have to do a damn thing to maintain it. I can't even water hanging baskets consistently. My mother will attest to this.)

There were so many hidden spots and walkways, gazebos (definitely called them gondolas) and gardens.
Even a greenhouse!

almost there

officially less than two weeks to go.

what?! wait wait wait. nooo. how??

I have hardly eaten enough fruit this season! There are more shiny-sweet cherries, juicy cantaloupes, fragrant white nectarines and succulent figs for me to enjoy!

I kind of like this summer thing. you know, peace, sun, family, relaxation, ridiculousness. well, ridikulousnezz is always going on in alex-land. Should I really be released upon another country?
 case in point:

I power-washed WU this summer.
I know. I'm quite the lucky duck(ling).

I don't own that outfit. my mom does. in fact, it was a gift. that she requested. along with a super-intense power-washer. from my father. living the life...

make sure that you see the rolled-up sleeves, gloves, goggles (!)...

what you can't see: rainboots, two pairs of gloves on underneath the waterproof gloves, a hooded shirt to keep my hair muck-free and an incredibly stylish, jealousy-inducing surfing hat that straps on. obviously my eyes are closed despite the fact that it wasn't sunny and there wasn't a flash.
  bonus.

But I have been lucky enough to take some time to practice french (and the art of relaxing) at this beautiful spot:
