Champagne, Part II

oooh buddy! this is going to be good

Champagne to follow!

the walk up

the group of us went here for a tour and a tasting!
yes, that is a native american man :
"the symbol of the America of old"

the descent

quite interesting.
pommery likes to have an art exhibit every year
in their caves. I wasn't exactly a fan.
I felt like it decreased their legitimacy.
this was a creepy chandelier that flickered
according to the notes of an opera.
took away from the beauty of the
carving in the wall.

the theme was sound.
yeah, I don't know how sound fits into this.
the entire cave was dark,
except for the blue laser.
cool, but then again, not the place.
in my opinion.

bottles of champagne

more!
you may not be able to see it,
but these are huge.
know how long they stay down there?
20 years.

they have to be turned every day,
in a certain way

the sediment goes to the bottom,
then it is frozen in liquid nitrogen and taken out.
can you see that green bit at the end?

this was my favorite part! I felt that all of the wine makers
would just take off their boots before they walked
 into the sacred champagne cave...
nope,
another art piece.
but it was cool, because they stomped in unison.

the second carving in the wall-
my favorite of the two

bubbles.Bubbles. BUBBLES!

on the way back we saw the cathedral in the gorgeous light

then it was taking the train back to paris!
